Colophon — Legal
Privacy Policy
Last updated January 2025. This policy explains what Stoop & Rail LLC collects when you contact us about a building, why we keep it, and how long it stays on file.
1. Who we are
Stoop & Rail LLC (“we”, “us”) is a stoop slip-proofing and winter de-icing contractor based at Madison Street 716, 07030 Hoboken, New Jersey, United States. You can reach us by phone at +34 669 416 418 or by email at desk@stoopandrail.online. We are the party responsible for the personal information described below.
2. What we collect
When you submit the walk-through form, call us, or sign a service contract we collect: your name, email address, telephone number, the address of the building you manage or own, notes you choose to send us about the property, and the service history we generate while working there (dates of visits, treads treated, friction readings, de-icing event logs, invoices and payment records).
When you browse this site, our hosting provider records standard server data such as IP address, browser type, requested pages and timestamps, for security and traffic analysis.
3. Why we use it
We use your information to answer enquiries and schedule walk-throughs; to prepare quotes and perform the agreed work; to run and document winter de-icing routes; to issue invoices and keep accounting records required by New Jersey and federal law; and to send occasional seasonal notices to existing clients, such as the opening of the pre-season audit calendar. You can opt out of those notices at any time by replying to the message or calling us.
4. Legal grounds
We process this data to take steps at your request before entering a contract, to perform a contract you have signed with us, to comply with tax and contractor record-keeping obligations, and for our legitimate interest in defending or substantiating premises-liability matters relating to work we performed.
5. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with: our email and hosting providers; our accountant and payment processor; and, where a documented service log is requested in connection with an incident at a building we service, the property owner or their appointed representative. We may disclose information if required by law or court order.
6. Retention
Enquiries that do not become jobs are deleted within 12 months. Contract, service-log and invoice records are kept for seven years, since they are both accounting records and evidence of the condition of a stoop on a given date. Server logs are kept for up to 90 days.
7. Cookies
This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. No third-party analytics scripts run on these pages. Any cookie used is strictly technical and required to serve the site.
8. Your choices
You may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete anything we are not legally required to keep, or object to its use for seasonal notices. Write to desk@stoopandrail.online or to the Madison Street address above. We answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs.
9. Security
Form submissions travel over an encrypted connection. Client records are held in access-controlled accounts limited to the owner and the dispatch coordinator. Field crews see only the address list and scope for the day.
10. Children
Our services are offered to property owners and managers. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
11. Changes
If this policy changes we will post the revised version on this page and update the date at the top. Material changes affecting existing clients will also be sent by email.
